At West Michigan Sawmill the majority of our lumber is either classified as “grade lumber” or “pallet lumber”. Grade lumber is sent to lumber distributors for kiln drying and eventually sold to manufacturers in the cabinet, flooring, and furniture industry. Pallet lumber is lower grade hardwood lumber that is sawn to specifications needed to make pallets.
Unique to most sawmills, West Michigan Sawmill also works with local and regional end users custom sawing lumber. Custom sawing includes trailer floorboards, fence boards, landscape timbers, barn boards, posts, and many other applications. Lead time for these jobs is generally several weeks, though some products are on hand or can be delivered sooner.
